Join Naper Settlement during the month of May as we take a look back at the role of Americans before, during and after wartime. As the Civil War loomed, the entire country readied itself. People prepared supplies, displayed their flags, and young men signed up to fight. This cycle repeats itself throughout our country’s history. A variety of weekend activities will be offered throughout the month focusing on the theme, “My Country,’Tis of Thee,” including flag trivia, rolling bandages, learning about the Pledge of Allegiance, visiting the Murray House interpreted for the Civil War era, taking a Victory Garden tour and more. Celebrate our community’s heritage with special community programs, events and heritage-themed activities with area partner organizations and the City of Naperville. Shop downtown Naperville merchants from May 15–30 and 10 percent of the proceeds will be donated to the Naperville Heritage Society.
May 26, 2:00 PM - 3:15 PM @ Walk begins at Naper Settlement Visitor Center
