From farming to tradesmiths, there was plenty of work to be done in the early settlement days of Naperville. When all the work was complete, it was time to play. The same is true today and Naper Settlement invites you to spend some of your leisure time with us, learning about trades, crafts, chores and games. During the month of July, enjoy a variety of activities based on the theme, “Work and Play,” including tradesmen sharing their craft, rope making, laundry, food preparation, butter making, games, town ball and vintage baseball. After all, what is more American than baseball and hot dogs?
Visitors are invited to become part of this exhibit at Naper Settlement titled “Food for Thought.” From sharing a favorite comfort food to arranging the food timeline in chronological order to writing on the walls, the exhibit invites lots of interaction.
