Endowment Funds

In addition to our annual operating needs, the Naperville Heritage Society seeks support for its endowments. An endowment is a pool of money invested for long-term growth and income, from which earnings are applied to a general operating budget or specific program. The principal in an endowment is permanently restricted and not available for use. Endowments create a steady source of revenue for the organization and are a means to diversify funding.

The Naperville Heritage Society has three endowments:

1.    The General Endowment supports ongoing operations.

2.    The Wackerlin Endowment, named after Helena Wackerlin, principally supports the operations and maintenance of Naper Settlement's Halfway House.

3.    The Acquisitions Endowment creates a permanent source of funds to purchase artifacts for the Naperville Heritage Society and Naper Settlement.

To learn more about these endowments, and the opportunities to create other named endowments including through Planned Giving at the Naperville Heritage Society, contact the Development Director at 630.305.5254.
