Naper Nights 2017 Summer Concert Series

American English at Naper NightsRock out to great music at Naper Settlement’s Naper Nights Community Concert Series and dance the night away on our beautiful 12-acre grounds. Bring your lawn chair or blanket, your family and friends for a summertime tradition that features cold drinks and great food and fabulous music!

No outside food or beverages are allowed. Food and beverages will be available for purchase. 

Friday, June 16

School of Rock  5-5:40 PM
Local music school, School of Rock, will be showcasing their top students during this rock n’ roll set featuring songs we all know and love! 

Fortunate Sons  6-7:30 PM
The Fortunate Sons is the world’s premiere tribute band to Creedence Clearwater Revival. Using original vintage gear and instruments, accurate costumes and spot-on musical ability, The Fortunate Sons instantly conjure up the full experience of the best Creedence Clearwater Revival songs.

The Trippin Billies 8-10 PM
A Live Nation review of The Trippin Billies ranked them as the, "nation's most successful Dave Matthews Tribute." Trippin Billies started in the mid nineties doing their first gig at an Irish pub in Chicago, Illinois called Durkin’s. Their talent coupled with their love of performance has moved them above the bar band circuit and into concert settings. This is not just another Dave Matthews cover band. This is THE tribute band. If you enjoy Dave Matthews, this is the band for you. As close as you can get to the real thing, but at a more reasonable price and much closer to home.

School of Rock

Local music school, School of Rock, will be showcasing their top students during this rock n’ roll set featuring songs we all know and love! 

The Neverly Brothers  6–7:30 PM 
The Neverly Brothers concerts are a tribute to one of the most exciting chapters in music history: the birth, near death and resurrection of rock n’ roll. Their one-of-a-kind high energy stage performances take you on a musical guided tour of rock history - from 1955 to 1965. 

American English  8–10 PM 
In honor of Sir Paul McCartney’s 75th birthday weekend, American English will play two full sets of Beatles music, including the album “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band” in its entirety to commemorate the albums 50th anniversary, as well as a special set featuring the post-Beatles work of the Fab Four. 

Friday, July 21

Journeyman  6–7:30 PM 
At just 17, Shaun Hague was named “The Best Young Blues Guitarist” by The House of Blues and by 21, the young guitarist was playing guitar for blues phenom Kenny Wayne Shepherd. In honor of his biggest musical influence (Eric Clapton), Hague has been making waves with Journeyman – A Tribute to Eric Clapton. Journeyman provides a powerful performance of all aspects of Clapton’s career from Bluesbreakers to From The Cradle! 

The PettyBreakers  8–10 PM 
The PettyBreakers is the nation’s premier “Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers” tribute act. Based out of Southern California, this band accurately recreates the sights, sounds and concert experience of a Tom Petty concert. All the classics… American Girl…Break Down… Free Fallin’… Mary Jane’s Last Dance…Refugee… Runnin’ Down a Dream… and so many more... perfectly reproduced. Playing to packed houses all over the U.S., the band is comprised of excellent musicians who have performed and recorded with international artists. The PettyBreakers were even chosen to perform on AXS TV’s “The World’s Greatest Tribute Bands,” honoring the music of this legendary American icon.  
Saturday, July 22 

The Chicago Experience 6-7:30 PM 
The Chicago Experience invites you to relive memories of the music that captured everyone’s heart! From the early hits off Chicago Transit Authority’s 1968 self-titled album, such as “Beginnings” and “Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is?," through the 1980’s, with Chicago’s hits “Hard To Say I’m Sorry” and “You’re The Inspiration," you will share in the joy that these songs bring. 

Shining Star 8:15–10 PM
Ten highly talented vocalists and musicians harmoniously join forces to present a tribute to Earth, Wind & Fire. Shining Star is a celebration of the four decade strong success, popularity and resilience of one of the most successful musical stories ever told......Earth, Wind & Fire. 

Friday, August 18

Local music school, School of Rock, will be showcasing their top students during this rock n’ roll set featuring songs we all know and love!

Synchronicity 6:30–8 PM 
Enjoy a high energy show featuring so many fun & hugely popular radio & video hits of the 80’s with “Synchronicity,” a tribute to The Police! Combining rock/reggae/ska/punk/jazz/dance to create one of the 80s-New-Wave era’s most important bands, these seasoned musicians bring you a top notch live rendition of The Police! 

Landslide 8:30–10 PM 
Landslide is a tribute to Fleetwood Mac, whose albums have sold more than 100 million copies. The band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998. Landslide will play all the hits you’ve loved over the past four decades.

Simply Billy 6-7:30 PM 
Simply Billy is the brand new tribute show that brings the incredible songwriting, vocals and pianistic virtuosity of Billy Joel to the stage for audiences to revel in! Brian Harris weaves together meticulously styled Billy Joel vocals, concert pianist "chops" and endless energy with this 5-piece band to present a show that will dazzle audiences.

Bruce In The USA 8-10 PM 
Bruce In The USA is much more than just another tribute. This high-energy musical experience is a note perfect and visually accurate recreation of a Bruce Springsteen & The E St. Band show. This high end, powerhouse band has taken this genre of performance art to a whole new level, and in the words of Clarence Clemons is “The Greatest Tribute Ever!”

Parking: The entrance to the concerts will be through the Pre-Emption House Visitor Center. Parking is available in the Municipal Parking Garage on the corner of Eagle and Aurora and in the Naper Settlement visitor's lot on Porter Avenue and Webster Street.

Not Permitted: Please do not bring coolers, containers, open or closed bottles, outside food and drinks, pets or weapons on to the premises.

An ADA viewing area will be available at every Naper Nights concert series, to all applicable patrons. The viewing area is located in an section with optimal sightlines to the stage and an ample amount of space.
