Many of the historic buildings have ramps and/or lifts to provide access. The Visitor Center features gallery exhibits, the Museum Store, plus accessible restrooms, baby changing facilities and an elevator to the lower level.
Due to the historic nature of the village, some of the buildings have limited accessibility; however, photo tour albums of the second floors of several buildings (including the Murray House, Halfway House, the Log House loft, and the Martin Mitchell Mansion) are available upon request for those who are unable to access the buildings or upper floors. During the Summer Season, costumed interpreters are attentive to providing more personalized information to visitors who may have questions about these areas or the specific photos in the albums.
When on site and accessibility assistance is needed, please go the Pre-Emption House Visitor Center Lobby located at the corner of Aurora Avenue and Webster Street, or ask any Naper Settlement staff representative (identified with a name badge) for assistance.
