Camp Naper offers kids in grades 1-8 fun, unique, hands-on activities, with advanced activities for older campers. Be sure to check out our special middle school camps for grades 5-8! All camps include supplies and a snack, and are led by experienced, adult counselors.

Camp Samplers - Customize Your Camp Experience!

Pick and choose one or more day camps to create your perfect camp experience! Each day offers a different theme, with fun and unique activities. Campers can recreate scientific superhero powers, meet creepy cryptids, create a water balloon catapult, crack secret codes, and more!

  • June 1 - Super Hero Science - Become your own super hero and make magnetic ooze as you investigate how super powers really work.  
  • June 2 - History’s Mysteries - Can you find Amelia Earhart? What is Stonehenge? How do you navigate in the Bermuda Triangle? Explore these mysteries and more as you dive into archaeology, make your own compass, and recreate one of the most mysterious places on earth.
  • June 3  - Snack Science -  Create some tasty treats as you learn about food preservation and science. Play with your food as you pop popcorn over a campfire, explode your drink on purpose, and make a frosty treat!   
  • June 4 - Earth Explorer - Let your inner naturalist shine during this fun day of nature exploration. Paint with the sun, create rainbows, play with worms, and create your own terrarium to take home. 
  • June 5 - Creepy Cryptids - Have you ever heard about a plesiosaurus in Scotland or a sasquatch in Wisconsin? Learn about cryptids as you explore these legends of the animal kingdom. Make mermaid eggs, race like a Bigfoot, and take home a dragon!

  • June 29 - Excavation Exploration - Solve and follow the clues as you learn about ancient writing, go on an archaeological dig, and learn about preserving the past. 
  • June 30 - Extreme Spies - We would tell you more about this, but it’s a secret. Okay, here’s a hint: secret codes, disguises, and sleuthing.
  •  July 1 - Water Wars!!! - Bring a towel, the water’s great. You’ll splash, play, and paddleboat your way through this wet day of water science and water balloons. 
  •  July 2 - Wild Weather - Extreme weather is no joke! Learn about atmospheric marvels as you make a thunderstorm, experiment with rainbows, make your own windmill, and play with some of the largest influencers of earth’s weather.

Civil War Camp Students

Civil War Camp - TWO DAY CAMP 

June 1-2, 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM (Drop-off begins at 8 AM)
$100/Camper, Grades 5-8 
Recruits wanted! Put yourself in the shoes of a Civil War solider as you practice military drills, cook over an open fire, and learn spy tactics. Witness the boom of a real musket firing and take part in a special closing ceremony. Take the fun home with your own Civil War kepi hat, small haversack, and photograph of yourself in uniform.

World War II: America Goes All In! - TWO DAY CAMP

June 4-5, 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM (Drop-off begins at 8 AM)
$100/Camper, Grades 5-8 
Learn about America at war during this WWII themed camp. You’ll practice spy communication and lie detection on the battlefield. On the homefront, you’ll discover the use of propaganda, rationing, and scrap collecting during the war. Learn the truth behind one of the war’s most famous heroines, Rosie the Riveter.

Learn all about cartography and exploration during this week of adventure. Use a water compass, unravel mysterious mummies, eat dirt, and talk like pirates as you create your own maps, write in hieroglyphics, make a cave painting, and pan for gold!

Campers will explore their crafty side as they learn to knit, crochet, and cross-stitch their way through the awesome week of textile arts! Macramé, floral design, and bracelet braiding will also add to this artistic experience.

OG Pioneers: Living Off the Grid

Early pioneers didn’t waste anything. Practice conservation and recycling — pioneer style — as you learn how to make your own soap, create a rope, and more. Learn about modern recycling and look for ways to engage your family, friends, and community in sustainable living!

Defying Gravity

June 15-19, 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM (Drop-off begins at 8 AM)

Campers will learn all about Naper Settlement’s historic connection to space as well as other sciences most people don’t think of as being part of the space experience. Be ready to practice walking in moon-boots and creating the perfect moon landing!

DIY Week: Makers Make Their Mark

June 22-26, 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM (Drop-off begins at 8 AM)
 $210/Camper, Grades 1-6 
Do you have what it takes to do it yourself? Find out during this exciting week of camp. Create your own toys, games, lip balm, bath bombs, candles, house decorations, and more. Let your creativity flow as you learn about being a “maker” from local artists.

Culinary Creations - TWO DAY CAMP

June 29-30, 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM (Drop-off begins at 8 AM)  
$100/Camper, Grades 3-8 

Campers will enjoy some camp cooking experiences and learn some cooking skills along the way. They’ll learn the science involved with food preservation, food safety and handling, and why some flavors work together better than others! They’ll also learn about sustainable food sources, and will start their own herb garden.


Art Smart

July 6-10, 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM (Drop-off begins at 8 AM)

This colorful camp is the perfect mix of fun and creativity! Get messy with paint and clay, let nature inspire you, discover a new favorite artist, and make your own comic book. From Kahlo to Kandinsky, try out unexpected ways to create a masterpiece and let your imagination run wild. Help create the Camp Naper Mural!

Awesome Architecture Camp Naper Naper Settlement

Amazing Architecture 

July 6-10, 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM (Drop-off begins at 8 AM)
 $210/Week/Camper, Grades 5-8 
Travel through time and discover palaces, treehouses, skyscrapers, and other amazing structures! Campers will spend the week designing their own city of boxes, inspired by amazing architecture from around the world.  Take several field trips to downtown Naperville, a construction firm, and to Oak Park to learn about Frank Lloyd Wright, a famous Illinois architect.

Time Machine

Step back in time to the raddest decades in history, the 1950s through the 90s! Exploring a new decade each day, campers will try out fashion trends, get silly with slang, and watch clips from popular TV shows. Create your own pet rock, lava lamp, and tie-dye t-shirt.

History and technology collide as campers discover the world’s most remarkable inventions and the people who created them. Solve your own impossible problems as you learn how inventors creatively changed the world. Work on your own 21st century marvel…the robot!

Incredible Creatures Camp Naper Day Camp

Animal Kingdom

July 20-24, 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM (Drop-off begins at 8 AM)
$210/Week/Camper, Grades 1-6 
Discover the amazing ways animals have helped humans throughout history. Learn the truth about a daddy long legs and help those crazy squirrels in your own back yard. Create animal art and learn how you can help with animal conservation. Be prepared for some awesome animal visits!

Civics Camp

July 20-24, 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM (Drop-off begins at 8 AM)
$210/Week/Camper, Grades 5-8  

A fun twist on the vote! Campers will learn about the who, what, where, when, why, and how of voting in the United States as they run their own campaign for the Official Camp Naper Candy Bar! Campers will also learn about the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment.

Camp Naper Science Experiments

Survive This! - FOUR DAY CAMP

July 27- 30, 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM (Drop-off begins at 8 AM)
$168/Week/Camper, Grades 1-6 
Learn how the pioneers survived in Naperville before running water and electricity as you train for survival in nature, help others in a disaster, and encounter some wild animals. Pitch tents, be first aid ready, and stay safe in the water during this exciting week! This week includes an off-campus trip to the paddleboat quarry.


Hysterical History - FOUR DAY CAMP

July 27- 30, 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM (Drop-off begins at 8 AM)
$168/Week/Camper, Grades 5-8  
Come see history at its funniest! Campers will learn about how humor has helped shaped history. During this look at the history of comedy, they’ll also work on their own comedic timing and improv skills. Get ready to laugh and find the humor all around you.
