Sew Cool Camp (1 Day)
Ages 11+ | August 9, 9-3 PM | $350 (includes a bernette 33 machine)
Need one more pair of shorts this summer? Whether you are brand new to sewing or have dabbled a bit already, Naper Settlement and Bernina of Naperville welcome participants ages 11 and up to a one-day sewing workshop to create your very own elastic waistband shorts. Learn basic machine sewing skills on a bernette 33 machine that you will take home!
Sew Cool Camp will be led by Anna Legutki, a garment teacher and resident cosplayer. Anna began sewing at the age of eight, and has had a passion for creating and recycling garments ever since. As a cosplayer, she is well acquainted with giving things new life and reusing existing garments. Some of her cosplay creations so far include Himiko Toga from My Hero Academia, Chrissy Cunningham from Stranger Things, (both of which include upcycled garments!) and many more! Her interests include her cat, Simone, music, video games, and has recently found a lot of joy in playing Five Nights at Freddy’s. Anna is a multimedia artist who loves being able to share her love of sewing and creativity in her classes at Bernina of Naperville, and can’t wait to help a younger generation find joy in sewing and garment construction. Outside of sewing and creating, Anna is a student at the University of Iowa studying Ancient History and will graduate this coming spring.
