Our living history museum tells the story of daily life in Naperville as it changed from a simple frontier outpost to a bustling turn-of-the-century community. With costumed villagers, annual events and special exhibits, you never know what a visit to the Settlement will bring! Enjoy the experience as your pulse slows and you breathe a little easier in our 19th century world.
Due to the changing seasons of Chicagoland, our historic buildings are closed to the public from November through March. The Pre-Emption House Visitor Center remains open year-round with changing exhibits and our award winningBrushstrokes of the Pastexhibit. Our Winter Season rates include the exhibits in the Visitor Center and admission to the grounds where you can view the exteriors of the historic buildings. This is also a great time to check out our tour on the On-Cell app.
