"Kimberly White embodies what it means to be a successful, empowering, and influential leader. As her daughter, I have seen firsthand how she passionately gives back to her community. She has led the Career and Networking Center to new heights as Executive Director and has taken on leadership roles in community organizations such as Naperville Neighbors United, Turning Pointe Autism Foundation and the Indian Prairie Education Foundation. She serves as Chairperson, of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion for the Naperville Chamber and was recently selected as President Nominee for the Rotary Club of Naperville.
An incredible quality about my mother is her dedication to empowering ALL women, including myself. As I have witnessed my mother spend time with her diverse group of friends, I can’t help but notice how willing she is to support them, whether it’s surfacing networking opportunities, offering career advice, serving as a trustworthy confidante, having courageous conversations or simply lending a helping hand. For me personally, the lessons my mother taught me have instilled in me that I am capable of achieving anything I set my mind to. Growing up, my mom often said, “I am who I am because of my mom” referring to my grandmother - a woman of great strength and intellect who broke many barriers, as a woman of color, during her lifetime. Today, I echo those exact words, “I am who I am because of my mom”, a woman who has broken a number of barriers on her own and whose shoulders I proudly stand on."
