Monica Patankar is a Naperville resident. Monica's ties to Naper Settlement date back to her childhood, having served as a Costumed Interpreter at the Murray House throughout high school wearing an 1800's costume made by her mom while giving tours to visitors. Today, Monica is the partner of her own law firm, Piccony & Patankar, P.C. Monica earned a J.D. from Notre Dame Law School and an LLM in Taxation from Washington University in St. Louis. Monica won the title of Miss Illinois for America in 2019 and was a special guest at numerous events, including the "Beyond Bollywood" event at Naper Settlement last fall and headlined the Naperville Magazine float during the Naper Lights Parade. Monica was named as one of Glancer Magazine's Fascinating Faces of 2019 and received the 2020 Kane County Bar Association Community Service Award in recognition for serving the community through civic and community involvement. Monica is an avid Bollywood dancer and you will see her at numerous Naperville festivals, including the India Day Parade, the Naperville Cultural Festival and Naper Settlement's Christkindlmarket as a performer, wearing authentic Indian dance costumes."
