Dr. Nefertiti Nowell has been the owner and lead clinician for Nowell and Associates Counseling Firm for over 13 years. Based in Naperville, she services all of Chicagoland area with offices in Naperville, Chicago, and through teletherapy. She leads a staff of therapists, psychiatrists, and psychologists that handle topics ranging from life coaching, to marriage counseling, to overcoming sexual abuse. Dr. Nowell is recognized as a leader in martial therapy and handing trauma most recently being recognized as a top marriage therapist and top behavioral health and trauma specialist in Naperville. In 2015, she produced and released Scars of the Soul, a documentary film documenting the narratives of women who have survived rape trauma. As she looks to end rape culture, she has shared her film at the National Association of Forensic Counselors convention, Governors State University, and in various workshop formats."
