Samantha Lewis Evans graduated from Naperville Central in 1999 and married Clint Evans in 2004. In 2009 Clint and Sam experienced back-to-back miscarriages. Finding few helpful resources, Evans transformed her loss into a book which lent voice to the pain and the shame of other mothers who miscarried.
Evans authored award-winning Love Letters to Miscarried Moms, “written in the midst of [her] grief so you will not be alone in yours.” Since the publication date in 2011, Clint and Sam Evans’ family has grown, totaling three heaven-born babies and three beautiful, earth-born daughters. In March of 2019, Love Letters was picked up by a publisher and will be rereleased November 2020.
In 2017, Evans co-authored three versions of Adventure Devos with certified white-water rafter, Eric Sprinkle. Sam’s “Ad Deev” contributions, detailing vivid descriptions of leeches, the polar plunge and skydiving, focused more on what not to do in the wilderness.
In 2018, Evans won back-to-back “Writer of the Month” awards and one “Book of the Year” award through Good Catch Publishing—a ministry that introduces Christ to communities through the stories of its own residents.
In June of 2019, Evans’ husband Clint joined their heaven-borns after a 20-month battle with cancer. Evans plans to author her husband’s story of the addict-turned-pastor.
As with Love Letters, Evans continues to convey the truth with humor, transparency and love in the midst of her grief and loss, conveying the most important message of all: you are worthy, so, so worthy of God’s love."
