HERstory Nomination Carrie Noe

"Carrie Bostrand Noe is a woman of character, substance, and action. She is a fierce advocate for young people, especially those who are at risk. Though she is not a long-time Naperville resident, Carrie has made important contributions to several local organizations in our community as a grant writer, development manager, and volunteer.

As a volunteer, Carrie served on the city of Naperville’s Advisory Commission on Disabilities, working to ensure that equal opportunity to access and participation was available to all.
In addition, Carrie has worked as a development professional with the Little Friends (which provides services for individuals with developmental disabilities, DuPage Children’s Museum (which offers a variety of hands-on science, math, and art experiences), 360 Youth Services (which provides counseling, housing, and substance abuse prevention for at risk youth), and Youth Outlook (which supports at risk Lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender youth). Most recently, Carrie spearheaded the development of a parent social group to provide support for those attending local Youth Outlook drop-in centers.

Carrie and her husband, Rob, have two sons who have also been the recipients of her support, encouragement, and advocacy. Carrie and her entire family are active in school, neighborhood, and community activities and events. She has been a Naperville resident for almost 20 years."
