"Our hope for a more humane future rests in the next generation of women leaders. Leaders are those who use empathy, tolerance, and peace as foundational principles for progress. Tomorrow's leaders must possess wisdom, mindfulness, and humility to build a just world. I nominate Megan Androwski, a college student raised in Naperville, who exemplifies the qualities of an ethical and devoted leader. She graduated with high honors from the Pre-nursing Associate´s Program at College of DuPage and began her nursing degree at the School of Nursing this fall.

Megan is someone who deeply cares about family and community. When she eagerly began her studies at COD several years ago, I also remember how excited she was about her new position as a student ambassador, an opportunity to support and mentor incoming students. In this leadership position, she created a welcoming and engaging environment for others; greeted new families; led tours of the college; hosted networking events; and developed new lasting friendships with faculty, administration, students, and community.

Megan excels in improving the quality of life of people in different areas. Many will agree that the strength of our Naperville community lies in the response to its most vulnerable population. Megan has shown her deep care and advocacy for the elderly community which is essential in protecting their physical and emotional health. Her work at Alden Estates, a Naperville nursing home, produced many special bonds with the people she cared for. Megan treated her patients with empathy and dignity.

She would share with me incredible stories of fascinating people who had led vibrant
lives and continued to want to maintain a deep level of connection and engagement with others. I observed the reciprocal benefits of Megan´s work in the beautiful daily exchanges she fostered with the aging population. Every day, she was protecting our beautiful heritage by touching the hearts of the elderly. I am hopeful for tomorrow, knowing that Megan Androwski will be a dedicated and compassionate leader in the healthcare system and society at large."
